Are you looking for a full list of dirt bike tricks? If so, below are the names of tricks that you can do on a dirt bike.
Whether you’re looking for ramp tricks, ground tricks, or beginner tricks, there are quite a few here. Of course… do not try these at home. These are dangerous and you could get hurt, injured, or even die. Remember, the guys riding for Nitro Circus are not only very talented, but they are also daredevils who DO get hurt.
Okay, the disclaimer is out of the way.
Here are all of the best tricks you can do on a dirt bike that I know of. However, new riders are always innovating and creating so if there’s a new one out there that isn’t on the list, I apologize.
Dirt Bike Tricks for Beginners
- Wheelie
Lifting the front wheel off the ground and riding on the back wheel only. - Stoppie
Similar to a wheelie, but you lift the back wheel off the ground instead. - Manual
A type of wheelie where you balance on your back wheel without pedaling. - Power Slide
A technique where you slide the back wheel around a corner. - Nose Wheelie
Riding on the front wheel while the rear wheel is in the air. - Bunny Hop
A trick where both wheels leave the ground at the same time, like a jump. - Fender Grab
Reach back and grab the fender while in the air. - Burnout
Spinning the rear wheel while the bike is stationary. - Pivot Turn
Using your front wheel as a pivot to turn the bike around. - One Hander
Letting go of one handlebar while in the air. - Step Through
Shifting your body from one side of the bike to the other. - Seat Stand
Standing up on the seat while riding.
Air Tricks (Jump/Ramp)
- 360
A full rotation in the air. - Backflip
Rotating your bike 360 degrees backward while in the air. Of course, the GOAT of freestyle, Travis Pastrana, busted out a sweet double backflip as well. - Front Flip
Rotating your bike 360 degrees forward while in the air. - Superman
Extending both legs straight back in the air, like Superman flying. - Cliffhanger
Standing up on the pegs, then reaching forward and grabbing the handlebars while your feet go up in the air. - Cordova
Clasping the underside of the handlebars while bringing your feet up in front of you. - Dead Body
Laying flat on your back on the bike in mid-air. - Heart Attack
Standing straight up on the bike while in the air. - Indian Air
Crossing your legs while extending them out to the sides in the air. - Kiss of Death
A type of Superman seat grab where the rider brings their body over the handlebars while keeping the legs extended. - Nothing
Letting go of both the handlebars and the pedals in mid-air. - Rocket Air
Standing on one peg with the other foot kicked out to the side. - Saran Wrap
Wrapping one leg around the front of the bike and back to the other side. - Scorpion
Bending your body backward and grabbing the back of the bike while in the air. - Shaolin
Kicking one leg straight up while tucking the other under the handlebar. - Sterilizer
Removing both feet from the pedals and bringing them up to the handlebars. - Stalefish
Grabbing the heel of your boot with one hand and extending the other arm out. - Stripper
A trick where you stand up on the seat and stretch out your legs. - Tsunami
A type of Superman trick where you touch your feet together over the handlebars. - Whip
A trick where you swing the back end of the bike out sideways in the air and then bring it back. - No Footer
Taking both feet off the pedals while in the air. - Kick Out
Kicking the back wheel out sideways while in the air. - Seat Grab
Reaching back to grab the seat while in the air. - Can Can
Swinging one leg over the middle of the bike while in the air. - Nac Nac
A trick where you kick one leg over the rear of the bike. - Tail Whip
Swinging the back of the bike around to the side while keeping the front wheel stationary. - Suicide No Hander
Taking both hands off the handlebars while in the air. - Foot Plant
Taking one foot off and touching it to a surface (like a wall or ramp) while in the air. - Double Grab
Reaching back and grabbing both sides of the bike while in the air.
Easy-ish Dirt Bike Tricks to Do on the Ground
- Foot Down Turn
A tight turn where you use your inside foot as a pivot. - Power Slide
Breaking traction with the rear wheel and sliding while still maintaining forward momentum. - Circle Wheelie
Doing a wheelie in a circle. - Drift
Maintaining control while sliding both wheels simultaneously. - Bumpstart
A trick to start the bike where hold in the clutch while coasting (usually in 2nd or 3rd gear) and then let go and give the bike a little gas to start it. - Donut
Spinning in a circle with one wheel stationary and the other spinning and creating dust or smoke. - Stoppie 180
Doing a stoppie and turning the bike 180 degrees. - Zig Zag
Sharp alternating left and right turns. - Clutch Pop
Popping the clutch to perform a quick wheelie. - Surfing
Standing on the seat or the back of the bike with no hands on the handlebars. - Tightrope
Riding along a narrow path, like a log or a ledge. - Bike Exchange
Swapping bikes with another rider while both are in motion. - Wheelie Bump
Performing a wheelie and then using an obstacle to bump the back wheel and lift the bike higher. - Switchback
Turning 180 degrees in a tight space. - Rolling Burnout
Performing a burnout while the bike is in motion. - Ghost Ride
Jumping off the bike and letting it travel by itself.

A full rotation in the air. - Backflip
Rotating your bike 360 degrees backward while in the air. - Front Flip
Rotating your bike 360 degrees forward while in the air. - Cordoba Flip
Doing a backflip while performing a Cordoba (reaching forward and grabbing the handlebars while your feet go up in the air). - Cliffhanger
Standing up on the pegs, then reaching forward and grabbing the handlebars while your feet go up in the air. - Dead Body

Performing a superman (extending both legs straight back in the air) while grabbing the seat with both hands and pulling the body up to a vertical position. - Heel Clicker
Jumping and clicking the heels together in front of the handlebars. - Kiss of Death
A type of Superman seat grab where the rider brings their body over the handlebars while keeping the legs extended. - McMetz
Doing a Superman while grabbing the handlebars with both hands and kicking both feet out to the sides. - Nac Nac
Swinging one leg over the seat to the other side while airborne, then bringing it back before landing. - No-Hander
Taking both hands off the handlebars in mid-air. - No-Footer
Taking both feet off the foot-pegs in mid-air. - Nothing
Letting go of both the handlebars and the pedals in mid-air. - Rodeo
A trick where the rider performs a “seat grab Indian air” while swinging the bike sideways under them. - Scorpion
Bending your body backward and grabbing the back of the bike while in the air. - Seat Grab
Reaching back and grabbing the seat while in the air. - Side Saddle
Hanging one leg off one side of the bike in the air. - Stripper

A trick where the rider performs a seat grab Superman but releases the bike completely before grabbing the seat again. - Double Grab
A trick where the rider reaches back and grabs both sides of the bike while in the air. - Sterilizer

Dirt Bike Tricks at the Dunes
- Sand Wheelie
Doing a wheelie on sand is a bit more challenging due to the loose surface but can be a fun trick to master. - Dune Jump
Riding up the side of a dune and jumping off the crest. - Sand Drift
Similar to a regular drift, but performed on a sandy surface. - Dune Slalom
Weaving up and down a series of dunes. - Berm Riding
Using the natural curvature of a dune to corner at high speed. - Sand Donut
Creating a circular pattern on the ground by spinning the bike around its own axis. - Dune Drop
Riding off a dune and dropping down the other side. - Sand Roost
Accelerate quickly in the sand to create a spray of sand behind you. - Banked Turn
Using the steep side of a dune to make a high-speed turn. - Step Up
Riding up a small dune to jump and land on top of a bigger one. - Sand Blast
Accelerating hard to create a large cloud of sand. - Cross Rut
This is when you ride across multiple lines in the sand without slipping into them. - Dune Surfing
This involves riding along the very edge of a sand dune. - Sand Split
A trick where you ride between two closely-spaced dunes. - Switch Dune
Changing direction rapidly on a dune. - Dune Ride Along
Riding along the crest of a dune. - Sand Double Jump
Jumping over two small dunes without touching the dip in the middle. - Dune Skid
Skidding down the side of a steep dune. - Sand Pit Jump

Taking a small jump at speed and continuing to roll instead of stopping.
