Automatic Dirt Bikes for Adults and Kids (No Clutch!)

This does NOT cost you extra.

Here’s a list of all the best automatic dirt bikes on the market today. Unfortunately, there aren’t many options for adults, but there are a couple. On the other hand, if you are shopping for a automatic pit bike, there are multiple options to choose from.

All of the major dirt bike brands offer a 50cc option except for Kawasaki. They do, however offer a great 110cc without a manual clutch.

All-in-all, if you’re young or small (or looking for a pit bike), there are quite a few solid options. If you’re shopping for an automatic dirt bike for an adult, you’ve only got a couple of options. And no, there aren’t any 250cc or 450cc dirt bikes that are clutchless. Sorry.

Honda Dirt Bikes Without Clutch

Honda has a reputation for building reliable and solid dirt bikes. And although there aren’t many, there are a couple of Honda dirt bikes that don’t have a clutch. However, these are both small bikes. If you’re looking for an automatic 125cc or 250cc, then you’ll have to look at another brand.

Here are the automatic Honda dirt bikes available today:

Honda CRF50F

The CRF50 Honda is a 50cc, 4-stroke dirt bike that is specifically made for young beginners. Being designed for beginners and young riders, this dirtbike has an automatic clutch, making it easy to ride.

In addition to this being a clutchless dirt bike, it has a soft suspension, smooth power, and a short seat height. This entry-level dirt bike is a great introduction to riding, but it can be used as a pit bike as well. There are a handful of upgrades like adding an aftermarket CRF 50 exhaust, suspension, shocks and more.

Overall, these are great bikes for small riders who are just starting out or who are stepping up from the 50cc class. Although… some adults use these as their automatic pit bikes because there are quite a few CRF110 upgrades that you can do to make them adult-friendly.

This awesome little minimoto is basically a street-legal dirt bike. It’s at least close.

The Honda Trail 125 is semi-automatic, meaning that this is one of the only 125cc dirt bikes without a clutch that you can buy. Not only does that make it easy to ride, but it is also very short and easy to get on and off.

KTM Dirt Bikes Without Clutch

If you wonder whether there are automatic dirt bikes made by KTM, I have some good news. There are two; one for a kid and one for an adult. There is no doubt that KTM makes some of the best dirt bikes you can buy.

KTM 50 SX (and Mini)

KTM 50 SX Mini

A model designed for young riders, the KTM 50 SX comes with an adjustable, automatic clutch and single-speed transmission.

Unlike some of the other models, this is a serious motocross bike and is not recommended for beginners or young ones who just want a put-put bike.

Even though most dirt bikes are not automatic, Kawasaki does have at least one model available. Technically, this is a semi-automatic transmission, so there are gears but you don’t have to pull in the clutch.

Kawasaki KLX110

Kawasaki KLX 110R

This model comes with a semi-automatic 4-speed transmission. It’s designed for young and beginner riders, however, this is one of the most popular pit bikes for adults out there. There are several upgrades and mods that you can do, including adding a KLX 110 big bore kit, new suspension, an aftermarket exhaust, and more.

Suzuki Dirt Bikes Without Clutch

I’ve owned a Suzuki ATV and dirt bike in the past, but they weren’t my favorite. Admittedly, I think Suzuki has come a long ways since I was riding them. While putting together this list, I wondered if they make automatic dirt bikes and it turns out that they do.

Suzuki DR-Z50

Suzuki DR-Z50

This is another model designed for young riders, featuring a single-speed, automatic transmission. This really is a great little bike for kids. Not only does is this an automatic 50cc dirt bike, but it is also one of the smallest dirt bikes with electric start that I know of.

Automatic VS Semi-Automatic

Are you curious what the difference between automatic and semi-automatic is? Don’t sweat it, it’s actually pretty straightforward.

Here’s a decent video (although the sound is a little low while he’s talking) explaining the differences between manual, semi-automatic, and automatic dirt bikes.

Arrow pointing up and text that says worth watching

As a recap, here are the main differences:

  • Manual
This the typical dirt bike. You have to pull in the clutch lever, shift gears, let out the lever, and then go.
  • Semi-Automatic
This is the typical little kid/pit bike. These generally have gears, however you don’t have to pull in a clutch lever to change gears.
  • Automatic
These are rare. The only gas-powered dirt bike with a fully automatic clutch that I know of is for little kids. Other than that, you’re looking at electric dirt bikes.
